The Sutton Hoo Curved Mount (Dummy Buckle) S-37

This is unusual in type in Anglo-Saxon material.  The back plate is abnormally thin and frail-looking.  It has been suggested that this may have been a textile mount.

This mount probably was mounted on the sword scabbard.  It has a shallow curve also shown. 3 1/8”  x 1 1/8” (8.1 x 3.8 cm)
