Vendel Turtle Brooches - TB42

These turtle brooches are from the Vendel period (late 6th through 8th Centuries), before the Vikings left their home in search of gold! When Sweden itself was having its first golden age. They depict a Vendel warrior in splendor. Turtle brooches were worn as jewelry on women's dresses.

Cast in bronze, these brooches are also available with a silver-plated or blackened silver-plated finish. They use steel pins for strength.

Comes as a pair of brooches, each measuring 2-1/2" by 1-1/2"  (6.5 cm by 3.7 cm)
