The spirals on this Celtic penannular brooch were a huge design element in all Celtic art. This is the second piece we designed over 40 years ago. It all started here!
Cast in bronze with a bronze pin, this brooch is also now available with a silver-plated or blackened silver-plated finish.
Penannular brooches were especially popular with the Celtic peoples of the British Isles during the late Roman period and were also worn by the Vikings in the Early Medieval period. Both men and women wore these brooches, which were sometimes highly ornate to show off the wearer's status.
