Viking Horses Turtle Brooches - TB24

This pair of turtle brooches has tiny bronze horses standing up from a honey-colored bronze bases. Turtle brooches were worn as jewelry on Viking women's apron dresses.

Everyone who has seen it has said "Wow!, It's Beautiful!, Is it real?" Yes, it is. At the Pensic War in August we spoke with a Viking reenactor who said that the projections were used to weave colored ribbons for a special look.

Cast in bronze, these brooches are also available with a silver-plated or blackened silver-plated finish. They use steel pins for strength.

Pair of brooches, each measures 3-3/8" by 2-1/4" (8.6 cm by 5.6 cm)
