Omega Brooches
Shaped after the last letter in the Greek alphabet the earliest omega-shaped brooches are from the territory of modern Russia (such as the Lake Ladoga region and the Volga-Ural area).
These handsome brooches were used to fasten cloaks and garments and were worn by both men and women. Examples have been found across Scandinavia and throughout areas touched by Viking trade and settlement.
A fan brought us an example of this brooch and we remade it into a working brooch.
