The Sutton Hoo Triangular Zoomorphic Strap mount S-38
In this mount the three circular cells give the effect of eyes and nostrils of an animal head. It is thought it might have served as a counter plate to the rectangular buckle, as is often seen in Frankish and germanic finds.
Because of the thickness of the mount it was probably not a belt tip. 7/8” x 1 1/8” (3 x 2.2 cm)
